ABOUT

"Life is a story, what does yours say?"

- Unknown -

I owned a laser cutting business for over 5 years and while there, I was asked to create a couple of steel monuments for a family member that had loved ones in the Kikino Metis Settlement cemetary.  They wanted something that would outlast the traditional carved wooden cross.  We realized that future generations to come may not be able to up keep the grave sites of our ancestors, and they would fall into disrepair or even worse, eventually be an unmarked grave.

This is when I realized that although it wasn't granite or polished stone, powder coated steel had just as long of a life, was virtually indestructable and could be just as elegant.  I know from personal experience, the financial burden that can come with losing a loved one.  That is why I wanted to bring this option to you.  I believe there should be alternatives for us to tell the stories of our loved ones that have gone.

I have seen in some private cemeteries across Alberta, hand carved wooden crosses, although made with love, they will not last forever. I have also seen some stone monuments broken and not repairable, only to have to be replaced at full cost. Knowing this is what created the spark for me. Our monuments will last the years and if they are ever damaged, they are easily removed and re-powdered coated at a fraction of the cost.

So Elegant Alternative Monuments was born.  I want to assure you every monument that we make is made with the same love and consideration as if it were for one of our loved ones.
